How do I create a group?

Tap the '+' button on the home screen, select 'Create Group', enter a name, and add members. You can customize settings like currency and payment method.

How do I add an expense?

Open a group, tap 'Add Expense', enter the amount and description, select who participated, and choose the split method (equal, by percentage, or custom).

Can I split an expense unequally?

Yes! When adding an expense, you can choose custom amounts or percentages for each person. This is useful when people contributed different amounts.

How do settlements work?

After adding expenses, the app calculates who owes whom. You can mark payments as complete when they're made. Tap 'Settle Up' to see recommended payment orders.

Can I edit or delete an expense?

Yes, tap on any expense to view details. If you're the group admin or created the expense, you can edit or delete it. The settlement will automatically update.

Is my data secure?

Yes, we use enterprise-grade encryption for all data. Visit our Security page for detailed information about our security measures.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your account and all associated data. Please settle any pending expenses first.

Can I use the app offline?

The app works better with an internet connection. However, you can view previously loaded data offline. New expenses will sync when you reconnect.

Is there a limit to group size?

No limit! You can add as many members as needed. However, performance may be affected with very large groups.

How do I export my data?

You can export group reports as PDF or CSV files. Open a group, go to Reports, and select your export format.

Getting Started

1. Create an Account

Sign up with your email or use Apple/Google sign-in for quick access.

2. Create or Join a Group

Start a new group with friends or family, or join an existing group using the invite code.

3. Add Expenses

Log expenses as you go. The app automatically calculates who owes what.

4. Settle Up

When ready, view the settlement summary and transfer money or mark payments as complete.

Troubleshooting

I can't log in

Try resetting your password using 'Forgot Password'. If you're still having issues, make sure cookies are enabled and try clearing your browser cache.

My expenses are not syncing

Check your internet connection. Force close and restart the app. If the problem persists, log out and log back in.

I'm not receiving notifications

Enable notifications in app settings. On your device, go to Settings > Apps > Split Contributions and ensure notifications are enabled.

The app is slow or crashing

Try updating to the latest version. Clear the app cache (Settings > Apps > Split Contributions > Cache). If issues continue, reinstall the app.
